Smalls Falls.....always a favorite!
Pretty wild in spring run-off, but a great area to explore in the summer.

Lovely Home on Loon Lake
Sarita
04/17/2017
Each summer, we look forward to returning to the peace and privacy we find at this lovely cabin on Loon lake. We have found an idyllic spot for our family vacations, each year anticipating swimming off the dock, taking long walks along the dirt road, paddling along the shores of the nature preserve and watching the wide variety of wildlife, including hawks, loons, blue herons and even moose. The house is surrounded by trees on three sides and the lake on the fourth side, with a perfect view of the water and easy access for swimming and boating. The lake is special because no motor boats are allowed and we can paddle and swim undisturbed. The rear deck of the house is a great place to hang out, day or night, overlooking the lake and offering a breathtaking view of the stars at night.
We also love the Rangeley area with a wide variety of activities available—hiking, swimming, boating in lakes and rivers, interesting small shops, a range of wonderful restaurants and special exhibits and local events. The owners leave brochures and lists of beautiful places to visit in the area.
Peace, Quiet and Serenity

We have stayed at this cabin on Loon Lake for many years. If you want peace, quiet, and serenity, this is the place you want to be. With no motor boats allowed on Loon Lake, the loudest noises you'll usually hear are the loons calling out. Seeing them close up on the lake is such a treat! You'll get sunshine most of the day on the dock and on the deck. There is plenty of wildlife to see besides the loons, including moose, one of which actually walked down the driveway and into the water for a snack of water grass. You can go for short or long hikes right from the house. If you need to go shopping or to a restaurant, Rangeley is a quick drive and Oquossoc isn't much farther.
This cabin is a great place to get away and to enjoy all that the Rangeley lakes and mountains offer. You can relax and forget your cares as you spend your days swimming, fishing, hiking, biking or paddling, or simply using the peacefulness to read or daydream as you enjoy the scenery. As we approach Rangeley, we never stop marveling at the magnificent scenic views of the lakes and mountains surrounding them. When you are lucky enough to vacation there, you get to see those views all the time and you really don't want to be anywhere else in the world!
